这是一课单词课，选自PEP小学英语第五册Unit 6 In a nature park的Part B，它在第六单元Part A中学习过的山川、河流、湖泊、天空等名词的基础上，学习城市和乡村中事物的新单词。这一课是第六单元的第四课时，起着承上启下的作用。对第六单元Part B的对话课起着至关重要的作用，只有掌握了这课的单词，才能在实际中运用对话。另外，这节课知识内容的掌握程度也关系到将来六年级The story of rain的学习基础是否扎实。
小学五年级学生，这个阶段的学生能较好地进行分析综合、抽象概括等逻辑思维活动，思维独立性有所表露。活动的坚持性较之中年级有显著的发展。已经过了英语的启蒙期，英语学习有了一定的基础，对以往的知识进行进一步的拓展和延伸，对英语的兴趣也还在进一步培养的阶段，除了新知识得习得以外，更要注重其运用。根据学生的实际情况以及本节课的内容，制定了以下目标：能力目标：1、知识与技能a. 能听、说、读、写单词road, bridge, house, building, tree. b. 能听说，认读单词city, village.c. 能够运用句型 “There are…in…”2、情感态度：了解乡村生活和城市生活的异同点，培养学生热爱家乡热爱大自然的情感。
