Language dying gradually out means a rootless culture, so a nation will be not an entity in a true sense.Furthermore, if there are only a small number of languages in the world, how monotonous it is! Each language is the embodiment of the essence of a race, which is absolutely distinctive from others.
It is the charismatic attraction of various languages that spice up the whole world and thus traveling to the different is the favorite to modern people. Let us imagine what will happen if several or only one language can be heard wherever we go. It is terrible indeed.
From the above-mentioned discussion, it is conceded that language dying out is beneficial to our life to some extent yet I am convinced that the drawbacks of the phenomenon have overshadowed the advantages offered. Every human society has a culture that includes arts, customs, language, etc. Every culture changes and the main causes for losing varieties in language and culture, in my opinion, are: contact with other cultures, and development of science and technology.
When two cultures have continuous contact with each other, the two cultures may blend or adopt their cultural traits, such as language, clothing, etc. thus losing their individual cultural varieties.
When people of one culture who move to a country where another culture dominates may give up their old ways and become part of the dominant culture. For example, groups of people from many countries have settled in the United States. Most of these people gradually abandoned the way of life of their homeland, and adopted an American way of life. They learned the language, adopted the customs, and followed the traditions.
The development of science and technology, on the other hand, may attribute to changes in a culture. The invention of steam engine, for example, produced great changes in the way people lived.
The invention of the computer in the mid 20th century has also had enormous impact. It has brought far-reaching changes in communication, education, entertainment, and numerous other areas of modern life.
In conclusion, to lose varieties in language and culture is to lose richness in them. Therefore, to my mind, multiculturalism should prevail in the contemporary world, so that ethnic groups can bring variety and richness to a society by introducing their own ideas and customs.(250 words)

Now the chance of experiencing different lifestyles or imitating to speak a few words of other languages for fun is slim due to the disappearance of some cultures and languages. I think that superstitious cultures and languages behind modern times cannot survive(thesis statement).

Once I visited Se ethnic minorities village, located on a hillside in south of China. To my disappointment, I did not feel a different thing about ethnic clothes, food or music. Ridiculously, an old villager said that the forefather of his race had been an embodiment of a fairy with a dog head and a human body! The old generations have been proud of being the descendants of the fairy; however, Generation Y may feel ashamed of that because they know exactly this is a superstitious myth and to be a dog's descendants is not a glorious thing.Apparently,the cultures basing on superstitious belief would be torn down by social progress(topic sentence).
