Dear teacher:
Hello: I am 17 years old this year. I am 17 years old. It is the season of blooming flowers and the season of dreams. Since childhood, I have used my intelligence and tenacity to realize my vision and dream step by step. I yearn for my smartness. With the help of Canruo Xinghe’s mentor, my talents have made me a pillar of the country and the people; I yearn to be able to nurture, cultivate and improve myself in a campus that inherits the Chinese cultural heritage and technological innovation. I chose Zhejiang University because this “Eastern Cambridge” that has experienced hundreds of years of trials and hardships, with “seeking truth and innovation” as the school motto, there is no glitz and arrogance, rigorous scholarship, just like my down-to-earth character, not eager for quick success, and the pursuit of success; I yearn for In order to write a more brilliant chapter in my life in Zhejiang University, where the elites gather and the talents are abundant, I think I have enough strength and confidence to choose Zhejiang University. Therefore, I apply to your school, hoping to get a chance for Zhejiang University to choose me. .
My parents were both teachers and inherited the wisdom of being a mathematics teacher father. I have a special sensitivity to numbers, rigorous thinking ability and divergent thinking, which makes me wander in the complicated mathematics and physics. In the ocean, I am always happy, and because of this, I, who have the same solid foundation in liberal arts, have never entered a liberal arts class; I have an innate curiosity about things that I don’t know, and I never give up on things that I don’t. It is to pursue the roots and seek the source. I will not give up until Liu Yinhuaming. I never give up halfway. I learn to play table tennis. I practiced until my arm is sore and swollen. Finally, I dare to compete with the boy. In order to participate in the 4_100m relay, I go to the playground every day to “evil.” “Make up” and finally won the place for the class; I learned to play chess with my dad, and I would not admit defeat and rather not eat; I firmly believe that people who are in Qin Muchu, change their minds, and erratic will never do anything; “Firm the green hills and not relax”, “How big is the heart?” “How big is it” is my motto. In my spare time, I also like to play chess, draw pictures, and watch blockbuster movies. I have a natural instinct for color, accompanied by the fine lines of a pencil. I spent three years in front of the easel, and I also developed my solid skills. My art skills, my painting won the second prize in the school art festival. I am the moderator of the animation version of the school campus network. For this reason, I spent too much energy last semester, and my total grades fell to 154 in the grade. This semester, I caught up again and returned to the 55th grade; my fluent American English benefited from watching American blockbusters. Watching blockbuster films can not only enjoy the beauty of art and experience foreign cultures, but also Improve my English level. From elementary school to middle school and high school, the English Olympiad has won the second prize of national and municipal awards. In my spare time, the piano restores me to a romantic girl. Between my fingers, there are autumn thoughts. At this time, I am peaceful and intoxicated. I am no longer the me in front of the ping-pong table. The piano relieves my fatigue. Brain, I feel so intoxicated, and life is so beautiful! I loved literature since I was a child, and inherited my mother’s literary hobbies. I read a lot of literary masterpieces. I have a strong interest in the myths and legends of various countries. I also love ancient poetry and modern prose. , From the philosophers of a hundred schools to travel notes and miscellaneous talks have been covered. I followed Yu Qiuyu on “Cultural Bitter Journey”, appreciated “The Long River of Frost and Cold”, and felt “Sigh of a Thousand Years”; read Yi Zhongtian, the world city, spent the “Midnight” with Mao Dun, watched “Spring Silkworm” and busy “Autumn Harvest”, The tragedy of Shakespeare made me miserable, and the magical reality of Marquez made me fascinated...
I have been the monitor since the first grade. After junior high school, I transferred to a private junior high school, which is also a key junior high school in the district. At the beginning, they didn't take me as a transfer student in their eyes. In addition, their progress was faster than my original school, which made me a little struggling. , But soon I was able to catch up with the firmness, intelligence and efficiency of Qingshan. I have never been like some children who learn in the middle of the night and make up for it like a lantern on a rest day. I pay attention to learning efficiency and cherish every minute in class. When I study, I hold my breath and keep my mind free. When I relax, I play games and play games. Ping-pong, swimming, chess, and drawing cartoons, I am learning and improving at an amazing speed, one by one, and the intense study makes me feel nervous and lively. At the same time in the new collective, I gave full play to my art and literary expertise, published newspapers, wrote sketches, and hosted a new party. I soon convinced other students with my personality charm and academic performance. Passing Wanzhongshan“---My mother described my junior high school life like this. At the junior high school graduation ceremony, I raised the trophy given to me by my alma mater with the results of the school’s first place and the city’s top ten. I calmly faced success and did not forget about it. I know that this success is just the beginning, and it convinces me even more. One reason: success cannot rely on accidental opportunities. It depends on down-to-earth efforts, the accumulation of strength, and the success of the effort.
Stepped into the gate of this provincial key middle school and entered the key class. I did not participate in any subject competition classes. I just want to use my strength to learn every subject well. In the college entrance examination, based on the total score, I choose a school that I yearn for. I want to major in mathematics, Chinese, Subjects such as English have great advantages, but I can't find the feeling in chemistry subjects, which also affected my overall grades. For this reason, this year I bit into chemistry to understand every question. Soon, my performance in this subject has also made great progress. I believe that as long as I work hard, I will gain. Although my high school life is more stressful, I also spared time to run newspapers, participate in social practices, and volunteer activities. I went to the elderly welfare home to help the widows and orphans, and helped the disabled families clean up in the community, and to ”earn“ books and money. My classmates and I braved the cold wind to sell flowers and newspapers. Social practice helped me understand the society and experience the joys and sorrows of life. Don't want to be a nerd in an ivory tower.
”State-owned Chengjun, on the bank of the river“, Zhejiang University, which has experienced war experience, is located on the bank of the pink and willow-green West Lake, and is based on her ”seeking truth“ style of study. When planning for my future, in view of my strong mathematical calculation ability, logical thinking ability, and the ability to capture and analyze information, my ideal is to be an actuary. ”The big the heart is, the big the stage is.“ I don’t think I’m a little girl. I think I’ll do big things like boys and do college questions. With the approach of the college entrance examination, I feel that my goals are becoming clearer and clearer, and my goals are getting more and more away from my ideals. It's near. I secretly determined to enter a school where I have no regrets. I am eager for Zhejiang University to help me go further in pursuing my ideals. I remembered the words of my alma mater, ”Today I am proud of my alma mater, tomorrow My alma mater is proud of me“, I choose Zhejiang University, with a bit of confidence and domineering, set sail, brave the wind and waves, ask the teacher to give me this opportunity to prove my strength, publicize my personality, and realize my value.

Of all the characters that I've “ met” through books and movies, two stand out as people that I most want to emulate. They are Attacus Finch from To Kill A Mockingbird and Dr. Archibald “ Moonlight” Graham from Field of Dreams. They appeal to me because they embody what I strive to be. They are influential people in small towns who have a direct positive effect on those around them. I too, plan to live in a small town after graduating from college, and that positive effect is something I must give in order to be satisfied with my life.
Both Mr. Finch and Dr. Graham are strong supporting characters in wonderful stories. They symbolize good, honesty, and wisdom. When the story of my town is written I want to symbolize those things. The base has been formed for me to live a productive, helpful life. As an Eagle Scout I represent those things that Mr. Finch and Dr. Graham represent. In the child/adolescent world I am Mr.Finch and Dr. Graham, but soon I'll be entering the adult world, a world in which I'm not yet prepared to lead.
I'm quite sure that as teenagers Attacus Finch and Moonlight Graham often wondered what they could do to help others. They probably emulated someone who they had seen live a successful life. They saw someone like my grandfather, 40-year president of our hometown bank, enjoy a lifetime of leading, sharing, and giving. I have seen him spend his Christmas Eves taking gifts of food and joy to indigent families. Often when his bank could not justify a loan to someone in need, my grandfather made the loan from his own pocket. He is a real-life Moonlight Graham, a man who has shown me that characters like Dr. Graham and Mr. Finch do much much more than elicit tears and smiles from readers and movie watchers. Through him and others in my family I feel I have acquired the values and the burning desire to benefit others that will form the foundation for a great life. I also feel that that foundation is not enough. I do not yet have the sophistication, knowledge, and wisdom necessary to succeed as I want to in the adult world. I feel that Harvard, above all others, can guide me toward the life of greatness that will make me the Attacus Finch of my town.

To live a meaningful life everyday; to continually pursue my predetermined worthwhile goals. -My view of life.
Could I put myself in the life-threatening working environment? Could I sacrifice my life for the benefits of others? Some people may laugh at my crazy question. To me, that is a serious question I have come a long way to find my answer. “I am not sure whether it is worth to answer”; “What is the true meaning of that question?”
When I was a young child, I watched a soap opera that was about court. I was deeply impressed by the judge’s calmness and the lawyer’s eloquence and resource that were showed in this opera. From then on, I hoped to study law some day. Fortunately, I performed well in entrance examination and got enrolled into __ University. Then I chose law as my major without hesitation. At university, I studied hard and got GPA 3.4. What’s more, I broadly read all kinds of books, including philosophy, history etc. My teachers’ instruction strengthened my understanding of law and makes me understand the significance of law to a country. From my studies, I had a lot of fun and got more interested in law. Moreover, I actively participated in practice in holidays from common company to law firm and tried to apply the theory I had learned into practice.
This summer, I had my internship in counselor department in __ Group Co Ltd which was involved in a business contract dispute, which was submitted to China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission for arbitration. As a representative of the requested applicant, I took part in the evidence collection in the early arbitration stage and clearly explained why the 5% balance of goods was not paid on time. After knowing the whole case, I visited my teacher, an Arbitration Law professor, and listened to her opinions. Realizing the counterpart didn’t completely implement their contract duty, I gave reasons as follows: First, the counterpart company didn’t mention bearing issue, which caused that the delivered machines couldn’t be put into the plant because of the disqualification of workshop. Thus overhaul was necessary, which delayed production and resulted loss. Based on these reasons, the counterpart didn’t completely carry out its duty, so our party did not pay the balance on time. During this time, I found out the evidence and pictures that attested counterpart did not give reasonable suggestion and service, and made a statement in the court. Finally, the arbitration turned out that counterpart compensated our loss, in which the arbiters invoked the reasons that I stated. They had a panel made up of 3 lawyers and 5 company representatives as agents while we just had 3 persons—two lawyers and me. Under such condition, I was able to cooperate with them and clearly stated my opinions without any nervousness, which got their respect. This matter greatly inspired my enthusiasm on study.
In addition, I took part in the contact draft in several companies. In the process, when I met a lot of problems, I often turned to my teachers for help, which made good impression on them. As I cherished each practice, I studied my specialty and English hard. With effective study method and diligence, I did well both in English and law, which helped me a lot to get scholarship every year. On the other hand, my practice inspired me to study. In practice, I exercised my legal knowledge. I also realize the big gap between theory and its application—sometimes I have master the rules but I didn’t know how to use it in actual case. My practice experiences have not only strengthened what I learned but have supplied new knowledge for me, which is good for my future study and career.
In my study and practice, I admired outstanding lawyers’ eloquence and jumping thinking more and more. However, in China, most of lawyers come from theory study and those who can perform well in practice are insufficient. Moreover, after the China’s entrance to WTO, there are a lot of problems with Chinese law. I think, my internship experience is not enough. In practice, I could combine substantive law with procedural law to analyze case, but I still feel my theoretical foundation is not solid enough. What’s more, comparably speaking, the chances that I have to initiatively study and practice are not a lot. Thereby, I am eager to study further abroad to know more about foreign law, thoughts and lawyer career so that I am able to stand out in fierce competition.

Due to the comprehensiveness of China’s “reform and open” policies, economics plays an increasingly important role in the development of its global position. Though more and more companies built, management of companies cannot catch up with the development of the companies. Management is a burgeoning field in China, so I hope I can acquire more modern knowledge on management in England. The roots of my strong interest in business can be traced back to my childhood. My father was among the first of China’s new breed of modern entrepreneurs. As a young girl, it was inspirational hearing about his business ventures, and meeting the varied and interesting circle of entrepreneurs. My mother was also involved in business as an accountant, helping him with simple calculations. And so it was early in my life that I hoped I, also, would someday be able to enter the realm of business.
With the time of growing up, I preferred reading books to satisfy my curiosity. I never ceased to contemplate over the questions I encountered. Subjects on business and management became a special fascination to me and my knowledge of psychology as well as interest in this field was increasing rapidly.
As a high school student in China, I had to concentrate on the College Entrance Examination (CEE), even so, books not related to the exams were never excluded from my life. Unfortunately when sitting in the exam in June, 20__, I was so nervous that I didn’t score well in the CEE exam. I enrolled in the department of Computer Science in Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Any attempt to persuade myself to focus on my major turned out to be a failure at the beginning of my college life. After several terms, I realized that I would never be interested in being a programmer or an engineer. At that moment, I lost my direction and objectives.
My persistence in reading saved me from the dark situation. As a matter of fact, I enjoyed reading the books included Encyclopedia American, and some books about management by Peter F.Drucker. I began to notice something interesting: Why some companies can produce more than others? Why some company can sell more than others? Why some companies can build up but others cannot when facing the same difficulties?
With the questions in my mind, I started to read many relevant books. I was lucky to read the book “Jack: Straight from the Gut”by Jack Welch, in Which John A. Byrne makes a clear illustration that the management is important for a company. When I was a junior, I ran a bookshop by myself near my school. I should manage not only the finance in the shop but also the employees in my shop even made some strategies to enlarge the business in my shop to hold on the run the shop. From this, my interpersonal skills and the capacity in business has been greatly developed, definitely I was increasingly interested in what I was doing. By December, 20__, I had finally determined to take business management as my career instead of IT. To accumulate more relevant knowledge, I strived to gain more practical work experience in some big companies.
Fortunately, as a senior, I began by conducting an internship in the Architecture Company in Zhejiang Province. Over six months, I worked as an assistant of the manager to harmonize the relationship between the different departments in this company and to draft some management system, which broadened my perspective of management conditions and business performance in different industries. The experience showed me that management is much more important than that of I thought in big companies. After graduation, I continued my work in this company. In May, 20__, the company offered me an opportunity to participate in an training program held by a famous management school. Through in-depth discussions with teachers and students in the classes, they all encouraged me to pursue my future career in management field because of my intellectual ability and the brand new ideas I mentioned.
During the short period of training, I realized that pursuing a higher degree in management is a wise choice for me now. Lancaster, with its excellence in management, represents the perfect fit for my needs. In your challenging environment, I can build the required foundation of knowledge related to management to achieve my goals. I am firmly convinced that your admission will be my first step of success. With this in mind, I hereby submit my application, and await your favorable reply.

Dear __,
Although Chinese woodblock printing has a tradition of 2000 years, Chineseprint artists have been absent from the international art scene for decades.Over the last years a few exhibitions about modern Chinese printmaking tookplace outside China, but some major exhibitions at such renowned museums likethe British Museum would probably lead to a breakthrough in the internationalart scene. Taking into consideration the growing appreciation of Chinese cultureand traditions, I am extremely interested in opportunity to expand myprofessional horizons to reinstate the well-deserved interest and approval ofthis ancient art. With this purpose, I was excited to learn about youruniversity, well-known for its high expertise in the subjects of creativity; andyour unique course, implementing a diverse range of subjects that contribute toan extensive list of skills. Therefore, I would very much like to be consideredas a strong candidate for you postgraduate programme.
My fondness for art and aptitude for rational thinking determined my choseof and devotion to the complex discipline of Chinese Printmaking, which includesa number of different techniques and processes like design, carving of the blockand printing. In comparison to Japanese, Chinese printmaking is rather composedfrom several wooden blocks and, in an exclusive technique, would employ onlyspecial Chinese water-soluble inks and thin rice paper to produce a print thatlooks like a watercolor or a traditional Chinese painting. The success of such atechnique entirely depends on the exact humidity of the paper, which is hard toachieve even for an experienced artist. During 4 years of intensive studies, Inot only obtained knowledge in every aspect of this art but also learned aboutdigital reproduction of such images, computerized approach to modeling and evenweb site design.
During my undergraduate studies I played an active role in the university'slife by organizing miscellaneous events, parties, seminars and exhibition in aswell as outside the institution. The 3rd China Art Academy Exhibition, CulturalBridge Construction and Carrying Forward The Academic Arts – to name just a fewevents which included works of painting, calligraphy, design and photography. Ipersonally was selecting a place and art works for expositions, which trained myeye and evaluation skills. In addition, I was greatly involved in publicrelations of our university, predominantly by initiating and maintaining contactwith sponsors, which significantly enriched my communication skills. Having beena Student Union president for three years, I enhanced my leadership qualitiesand gained valuable experience in legality, administration and budgeting ofactivities and exhibitions. As an event manager, I not only coordinated groupsof students, working on different projects simultaneously, but also participatedin their careful recruitment.
The University also gave me a great opportunity to study English Languageas a part of my degree which, in particular, improved my grammar and writingskills. To develop my oral skills, I often interact with international exchangestudents who come to our university to study art of Chinese Printmaking. I alsoassisted professors in running their lectures for international students inEnglish. In preparation for my studies in the UK, I familiarized myself with theHarvard referencing system, and, currently, I am trying to learn how to write anacademic assay and dissertation.
In my spare time I enjoy swimming and reading biographical books aboutfamous people like Bill Gates, Vincent van Gogh, Munk and others. As a creativeperson, I like to play with visual space of my room, drawing and painting on thewalls and ceiling. My weakness is craftwork, therefore, my interior is decoratedwith various handmade objects, which I usually buy or make myself.
Your programme would greatly contribute to the weight of my undergraduatespeciality in Chinese Printmaking, allowing me to bring the significance andbeauty of this ancient art to the international level and effectively present itin the most innovative and creative way. Thus, the professional practice thatlies in the grounds of your course provides the essential functional preparationfor the career. In addition, I am intrigued by the opportunity to learn aboutcontentious issues and viewpoints in contemporary art and assess them inrelation to the previously gained knowledge and experience. In combination witha strong critical focus that your course offers, collaborative discussions andanalyses would provide an engaging approach to develop and apply my individualanalytical skills. In particular, I am looking forward to the sessions thatwould not only enable me to communicate my ideas clearly but also to presentinformation in appealing and captivating for audience way.
Taking into consideration my potentials and enthusiasm I believe I willmake a full use of the opportunities afforded to me at your university.
Yours sincerely,
