Text 10
Many teenagers feel that the most important people in their lives are their friends. They believe that their family members, especially their parents, don’t know them as well as their friends do. In large families, it is common for brothers and sisters to fight with each other and then they can only go to their friends for advice.
It i s very important for teenagers to have one good friend or many friends. Even when they are not with their friends, they usually spend a lot of time talking among themselves on the phone. This communication is very important in children’s growing up, because friends can discuss something difficult to say to their family members.
However, parents often try to choose their children’s friends for them. Some parents may even stop their children from meeting their good friends. The question of“choice”is an interesting one. Have you ever thought of the following questions? Who chooses your friends? Do you choose your friends or your friends choose you?

【参考范文】
There is no doubt that everybody makes promises all his life. But just as the proverb goes, “promise is debt”. Once you have made a promise, you must keep it; otherwise, you won’t be worthy of good faith. What’s worse, you will lose your friends and even fame.
Take myself for example. One day when playing with my good friend Xiaoming, I saw a beautiful bird flying in the sky. Liking it so much, I asked Xiaoming to draw it for me and I would give him my doll in return. But after he finished the drawing, I broke my word and refused to give him the doll because I liked it so much too. Since then, I have lost my good friend.
Therefore, I think it is necessary and important for you to think it twice before making a promise. Once you have made it, no matter what happens to you, you should keep it. Only in this way can you be reliable, which will help you make a friend indeed and establish a good fame.
