  雅思大作文范文:广告与媒体的问题

Television screens, newspapers, buses, andalmost all city streets are flooded by all kinds ofadvertisements. This has both advantages anddisadvantages to consumers who are unavoidablyinfluenced, though the degrees vary from person to person.

Because of the advertisements placed by many competing companies, consumers are ableto learn about certain new products rapidly. If a product happens to be what some consumersneed, they might be attracted to make a purchase and have trial use. If it turns out to bereally good, people would set about recommending it to friends and the sales of this product willgo up very quickly. So, we see this is a win-win situation both to consumers and manufacturersand we also see that consumers are not just influenced profoundly all at once. It takes time forthem to establish faith in the advertised products.

In most cases, the advertised products are good and worth buying. But there are alsocases where the effects or functions of a certain product are much exaggerated and it willdefinitely fool some people when they are attracted all at once and go to buy it. Since a productcan only win the market through its quality and its long established fame, there’s everyreason to believe that those fake or much exaggerated products will eventually lose theirmarket shares and die out. Thus, we see that the market is selective and consumers aresensible in the long term.

In developed countries, there are strict censorship and supervising systems regardingadvertising. If the advertisement put up by a company fails to honor the advertised effects, itwould be termed as fraud, thus violating the law which could lead to really serious result. Inmost cases, the manufacturing company would be fined so heavily that it would be difficult for itto survive any longer.

From the foregoing discussion, we can see that advertisements influence consumers bothfavorably and unfavorably and the degrees of this influence differ from person to person. Toprotect consumers, governments can follow the practice of developed countries by enforcingreally strict censorship and supervising laws in regard to advertising as a whole.

  雅思大作文范文:新媒体对生活的影响

It’s not difficult to hear people complaining abouthow much they are over occupied by the flow ofinformation. Yes, advanced media has easily pushed us into a century of news. Some mayargue that, with the hit of news media, people are gradually losing themselves since they aredrowning in the pool of information. However, positive aspects brought by news media alwaysexceed negative ones. I’ll illustrate my points in the following two aspects: the convenientlife, and the updated news.

Just imagine what life was like 50 years ago, when the only sources of news were thoselimited newspapers and uncertain rumors from one person to another. The transmission ofnews was so hard that it was almost impossible to finish all important news within a shorttime. With developed news media, however, things are much different now. Let’s take a glanceat a normal person. He brushes his teeth while watching morning news on TV, listens to theradio in his car, and scans news websites on the Internet. Getting in touch with the trendseems to be no hard task to him, and so are we. Life, with the aid of advanced news media, becomes more and more convenient.

We have been so urgent to grab the latest news that hardly can we ignore them. In thepast, it might take days or even weeks when something occurred in New York finally reached thenewspaper published in Beijing, not to mention those transmitted by mouths. Now, thesituation is not the same. A quick click on the mouse leads you directly to the news world, andexchange of information becomes more important than never before. Yes, via Internet and cellphones, you can get almost whatever you want to know immediately, and that’s absolutelyone great gift that news media brings to us.

Of course we can’t deny the hard situation of modern people when their lives are overoccupied by news media. However, how can we ignore the developing world? With properregulations and restrictions, people will find themselves firmly tied to news media, and that’s aneverlasting trend.

  雅思大作文范文:广告能促进商品的质量吗?

Advertisements, as an unavoidable componentof daily lives, are widely accepted reluctantly by anincreasing number of people. Some consumersbelieve that advertising only promotes the sales of products but not the quality, however, Ipersonally disagree with this viewpoint.

Advertisements, such as television commercials and flyers are well defined advertisingmethods to the public. Undoubtedly, the main purpose is to pursue the increased sales ofgoods in order to achieve financial profit. For example, KFC is advertising that it cooks the bestchicken in the world to persuade more people to buy its fast food and Toyota has also doubledits sale of cars by increasing the investment in advertising through various types of media. Bothof these examples seem to demonstrate that advertising only improves the quantity of salesto drive up economical benefits.

Nevertheless, when one genuinely looks into the contents of these advertisements, theirproducts are essentially improving in terms of performance and quality. Using these twoexamples again for instance, the taste of KFC chicken is from good to irresistible andmeanwhile, GPS, ABS brakes , airbag safety systems and even key-less start ignition, are alltypes of new inventions that have been adapted by Toyota to deliver a safer and morecomfortable car.

In order to show their attractions in advertisements, they are required to provide betterquality and service as advertisements are considered as a promise that sellers have made tothe public. To be a responsible and moral corporation, they have to fulfill what they promisedin advertising.

To sum up, advertising not only increases sales, but more importantly, as a moralcommitment from the seller, it improves the performance and quality as well.
