Do you change your hair often?

Christophe: Hello, I am Christophe from Belgium and this is Aiste from Lithuania. And the question of the day on elllo.org is do you change your hair often? Aiste, do you change your hair often?

Aiste: Not really. When I was back in my country I used to change my hair often because going to the hairdresser was very cheap and I just liked to experiment. But once I used to do it often, I had short hair. It really didn't fit me really well, so I started to back growing back long, and I just keep it simple and let it grow. What about you Christophe?

Christophe: Well, I just go to the hairdresser six months ... I'm very sorry ... I go to the hairdresser like every six months, and then he cuts my hair short. I let it grow for six months, and then he cuts it short again. Very simple.

Aiste: OK, I see, so we both keep our simple and easy to live with.

Who is to blame for the financial crisis?

Aiste: Hello, this is Aiste from Lithuania and Christophe from Belgium, and our question today is ... who is to blame for the financial crisis? Everybody's talking about that right now, so Christophe what is your opinion?

  Christophe: The Americans of course.

  Aiste: Americans! OK.

Christophe: Yes, because they were giving cheap loans to the people and then all of a sudden the cheap loans became very expensive loans. They couldn't pay off their loans anymore, and they had to sell their house: the bank owned their house, but there were so many people who had to sell their house to the bank or give away their house to the bank that all the banks ended up with having thousands of houses, so the price of the house dropped ... and then everybody was poor. What about you Aiste? Who do you think is to blame for the financial crisis?

Aiste: Well, I don't really have a clear opinion. I think there are so many interrelated factors that are leading to it that I actually really don't know, but I really don't like because it is affecting, and you can feel the prices are going up, the currencies are unstable, and every day you can lose even a small amount of money that you have.

Christophe: I think you are also responsible for it because you don't buy enough. You always save your money to buy plane tickets.

  Aiste: Ok.

Should children be taught about finance?

Christophe: Hello, I am Christophe from Belgium, and this is Aiste from Lithuania. This is the question of the day: Should kids learn about personal finance? Aiste, what is your opinion about that?

Aiste: Well, I think it should definitely learn about personal finance, so my opinion is that any kids shouldn't be given a lot of money, and shouldn't think that money just appears when you go to your mom or dad and say, " I want this. I want that - and - please give me money for that, so if the kid feels that money is a limited thing, I think that's the first step to learn about personal finance. What's your opinion, Christophe?

Christophe: Wait! But you told me that when you were a small girl, you went to your daddy and you said 'Daddy, can I have money, please?' and it was all the time like that.

Aiste: Yes, but my amount was kind of limited, and every litas I got, that's the currency in my country, every litas was counted for a certain purpose, so my dad knew exactly that my transportation costs would be two litas and I had five litas for my lunch during the day, and that was it. So it was really ... because I used to go to school for a kind of locked time and I had to eat lunch, and so because he knew that, I couldn't have any extra money that I would use that for for example, if I would need some puzzle, or I would like to go somewhere, I couldn't actually save unless I didn't eat. So the money was actually limited, so I could feel that this was not just get as much as you want.

Christophe: So what you're saying is that you learned about personal finance?

  Aiste: Yes, I think so.

  Christophe: So that's good.

  Aiste: Well, probably.
