How can parents really get their children to do housework? It is difficult for parents of nearly every family to teach their children to be ready to db housework, but with one of the following suggestions, you really can get your children to help at home.

If parents give their children the impression that they can never do anything quite right, then they will regard themselves as unfit or unable persons. Unless children believe they can succeed, they will never become totally independent.

My daughter Carla's fifth-grade teacher made every child in her class feel special. When students received less than a perfect test score, she would point out what they had mastered and declared firmly they could learn what they had missed.

You can use the same technique when you evaluate ( 评价 ) your chilcTs work at home.

Don't always scold and give lots of praise instead. Talk about what he/she has done right, not about what he/she hasn’t done, if your child completes a difficult task, promise him/her a Sunday trip or a ball game with Dad.

Learning h a process ( 过程 )of trying and failing and trying and succeeding. If you teach your children not to fear a mistake or failure, they will learn faster and achieve success at last.

How much do you know about Ireland? Ireland has had a very difficult history. The problems started in the 16th century when English rulers tried to conquer Ireland. In the 1840s the main crop, potato, was damaged by disease and about 750,000 people died of hunger. This, and a shortage( 缺乏 )of work, forced many people to leave Ireland and live in the USA, the UIC Australia and Canada. As a result of these problems, the population fell from 8.2 million in 1841 to 6.6 million in 1851.

For many years, most of Irish people earned their living as farmers. Today, many people still work on the land but more and more people are moving to the cities to work in factories and offices. Life in the cities is very different from life in the countryside, where things move at a quieter and slower pace.
