  The Cunning Cat and His Company

  Hot dog is one of America’s favorite food. It is as American as apple pie. The hot dog, however, did not originate in this country. It was original a kind of sausage. In a cold day in 1900, in New York Polo Grounds, some food vendors(小贩) sold out their sausages and cried: “Get your hot dachshunds here!” At that time, a famous cartoonist was drawn a series of cartoons about a talking sausage, but he did not give the sausage character name.
