They are distributed in the mountainous areas of southwest and northwest of China.

To help the people of the minority ethnic groups live better, the government should take some effective measures. For one thing, more and more knowledgeable undergraduates should be encouraged to those poor areas to help the people there to get rid of their poverty. For another, the advanced science and technology must be introduced into the minority ethnic groups to improve their living conditions. More importantly, people of the minority ethnic groups should be given equal opportunities to study and work. Only so will China be more prosperous in the future.
