A: Do you think we could go easy on Joey for fighting in the cafeteria? At least he isn’t a woose.
B: No, we can’t go soft on fighting in school. Besides, he didn’t have to fight that kid. The teacher had the kid cold for cheating. So Joey was already cleared of the charges.
A: I know, but it seems cold to punish him, after somebody copies his work.
B: We’re punishing him for fighting with after school detention. The other kid will be suspended for cheating.
A: 你觉得我们能原谅Joey在餐厅里打架的事吗?至少他表现得很有勇气。
B: 不行,我们不能对在校园里打架的行为手软。而且,他根本就不应该打那个孩子。老师已经完全掌握了那孩子作弊的证据,已明白不关Joey的事。
A: 我知道,不过毕竟是别人抄袭了Joey,这样惩罚他太无情了。
B: 我们是罚他打架,让他放学后留校。另外一个孩子作弊,我们会让他停课。
