Today, my friends and I decided to take a visit to an old town which was near our city. We had heard of it for a long time, but we never had the chance to go there. A week ago, I happened to read an article about the old town. I was so curious and wanted to see it. It took us two hours to reach there. The town was separated from the city by the mountains. It was so quiet and the trees were green. I was very impressed by the clean river, which showed the town was unpolluted. The house was old style but I liked it a lot, and all the things here were so beautiful.
今天，我和朋友们决定去参观我们市附近的一个古老的小镇。我们一直都有听说过这个小镇，但我们从来没有机会去过。一个星期前，我偶然读到一篇关于老镇的文章，我很好奇，想去看看它。我们花了两个小时到达那里。群山把城市和小镇隔开了，很安静，树也是绿绿的。那里干净的河给我留下了非常深刻的印象，这说明了小镇没有受到污染。房子是旧式风格，但是我喜欢，所有的东西都是如此的美丽。

Olympic Games hold every four years and I like to watch the matches so much. People always pay much attention to the champions, while for me, the inspiring players are easier to catch my attention. Though some players do not get the prize, they deserve applause as the champions have. I remembered that in the Beijing Olympics, in women’s 100-meter-race, a girl looked different from other athletes, because she worn scarf and was from Afghanistan. She lagged much behind other athletes, but she still got the intense applause. She showed to the world that Afghan women could join this big event. Her insistence helped her to come to the world stage.
奥运会每四年举行一次，我很喜欢看比赛。人们的关注点总是在冠军身上，而对我来说，激励人心的运动员更容易吸引我的注意。一些运动员虽然没有获奖，但是他们应该得到和冠军一样的掌声。我记得在北京奥运女子100米赛跑上，一个女孩看起来不同于其他运动员，她戴着围巾，来自阿富汗。与其他运动员相比，她的成绩落后了很多，但她仍然赢得了热烈的掌声。她向世界展示了阿富汗妇女也可以参加这个大赛事。她的坚持帮助她走到了世界这个舞台。

Nowadays, environmental pollution is very common. Resource waste is also seen everywhere. In order to protect the environment, to protect our earth, we need to live a low-carbon life. I usually go to school on foot, sometimes by bike. If I need to go to the other city, I will choose the public transportation and not ask my parents drive me there. If I am the last one to leave classroom or home, I will make sure all the lights are off. I always will save the water after washing clothes. And then use it to wash the toilet. Our earth is in our own hands.
如今，环境污染越来越普遍，资源浪费也随处可见。要保护环境、保护我们的地球，我们需要低碳生活。我经常是走路去学校，有时候骑自行车。如果我要去别的城市，我会选择公共交通，而不会让我父母开车送我。如果我是最后一个离开家或者教室，我都会再三确定灯是不是都关了。我总是会把洗完衣服的水留来冲厕所。我们的地球掌握在我们自己的手上。
