1.多听录音带：我们生活在汉语语境中，这对孩子学习英语造成了一定的阻碍。而很多家长不会说英语或发音不准确，这些因素都会或多或少地影响孩子学习英语。因此，在家如果多放放录音带，如把早晨起床的闹钟换成英语录音，每天半个小时的听磁带等，同时鼓励孩子模仿磁带里的话语，或与自己的孩子一起模仿，来一场比赛，既活泼有趣又激发了孩子学习英语的兴趣。
2.给孩子提供良好的环境和表演机会：家长应该尽量给孩子提供一个英语空间，哪怕是一个小小的英语角，在这个角里面尽可能多地摆放、挂置一些与英语有关的物品。如英语图画书、英语卡片和图画以及孩子亲自动手制作的东西等等。让孩子在生活中时时处处学习英语。孩子通常都具有极强的表现欲，喜欢受到大家的表扬，家长要多给孩子创造一些表演的机会。这不仅锻炼孩子的语言能力，同时也锻炼孩子的胆量。
